Physical Education

Each GUES student participates in two 45-minute physical education classes per week with certified PE teacher, Coach Amy Barham and her instructional assistant, Mrs. Cammie Harges.  Coach Barham and Mrs. Harges instruct the students using the SPARK Physical Education Curriculum.  Students are taught the basic skills and movements of certain sports for several weeks with the culminating activity being week or two of games in that particular sport.

Students also participate in an additional 60 minutes of physical activity with their classroom teachers including indoor activities, such as stretching and movement in place activities, and outdoor activities that range from basketball and football games to foot races to games played using the Peaceful Playgrounds painted on the road behind the school.
